DSU C.A.R.E.S is a behavioral intervention team of campus partners who proactively respond to non-emergency reports of behavioral concerns related to the well-being and academic progress of DSU students. Referrals are reviewed during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8:00 am-5:00 pm or summer hours), and are not monitored after hours, on weekends, or during official University holidays (please see Academic Calendar – Delta State University).
Please note that due to required compliance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), the person making the referral may not receive additional information regarding the status of the referral, but will receive a notification of receipt of the report.
To make a report, please review the areas below that apply to your concern, then submit the report:
IMMEDIATE ACTION REQUIRED
For immediate concerns related to persons: making threats to harm themselves or others; that pose a threat to the University or its community; or for other emergency issues, please contact the University Police Dispatch at (662) 846-4155 or 9-1-1.
Campus Counseling (Non-emergency reporting)

Title IX (Sexual Harassment or Misconduct) Violations
If you’re not in immediate danger and have been sexually harassed or violated, or feel that you have been and would like to ask questions regarding your experience, please contact the University’s Title IX Coordinator at email@example.com. She will advise you of your rights and the support systems and resources available to you, as well as the investigation protocols.
Student (Code of Conduct) Violations
This form provides an avenue for all faculty, staff, and students to report non-emergency incidents to the Director of Student Development. Incidents may include (but are not limited to): violations of the Student Code of Conduct; violations of local, state, and federal laws; classroom disruptions; general complaints/conflicts/concerns. The University Police Department (UPD) strives to protect life and property, understand and serve the needs of the campus community, and improve the quality of life by building capacities and apprehending offenders in a manner consistent with law and reflective of shared university values. S.O.S. Early Alert (Academic Difficulty)
The Stay Okra Strong (S.O.S.) early alert is a system to identify and assist academically at-risk students through organized outreach. Faculty, staff, and students may refer a student by completing the S.O.S. form. Once the form is submitted, the Student Success team is alerted and follows-up with next steps.
